What can we do as Americans to fight against this?...

  1. I'm more upset with the enviornmentalists that beg for higher gas prices. They will not let us drill for our own oil. All we can do is send our president to OPEC to get them to produce more. We get to watch other countries drill in the Gulf instead of us. Then we buy it from them.

  2. We citizens cannot do anything about it. In MA it is around 3.50 a gallon. But AAA (gas station) will climb up to 4.17 if you buy the supreme. LOL not supreme up the one higher than the regualar

  3. itdoes and it doesn't..we were one of the lowest price countries for gas...we really have our hands tied...its up to our elected officials...my husband drives 30 miles one way to work...its almost 4.00 here in Minnesota

  4. It is $3.75 here in Rockwell Nc.

  5. nope! I stopped using gas and ride a bike now. it's like $4.20 the cheapest here in NY.

but it's evidently not high enough even yet as there's still millions of people driving around in hummers and escalades talking about how wonderful america's government is and how stupid the "tree hugging hippies" are

  6. Well I do not beleive in imperialism, so I wouldnot fight the gas monopoly, I would definetly tap the Alaska one though, sorry lil animals, we are the dominant speicies, we will take care of you once we can get more fuel to run you over with.

  7. Gas is anywhere from 3.48 to 3.66 in my home town in arizona. But the thing that makes me mad is Diesel has gone up to 4.50 a gal. Someone needs to explain that Diesel is the c**p by product of gas. And should have never been over 1.50 a gal

  8. its now almost 4 as well here. praise god my job pays my gas

    (new port richey , florida)

  9. Use less?

Here in Kalamazoo Mi it was 3.96 the other day, but has since dropped back down to the 3.80 something range.

But seriously, if you want to fight high prices of any commodity, reduce demand and price will follow. In the case of gasoline, walk, bike, carpool, take the bus, telecommute, lower your speed from 70 to 55 on highways, keep tires inflated, and keep your air filter clean.

And that's just the direct stuff.
