  1. Yes and I would say their fine for them to eat. My gerbils have had mashed taters, corn on the cob, peaches, nanners, apples, grapes, mango, melon, tomato, celery, cucumber, romaine lettuce, cooked spinach w/ parmesion, steak, chicken, pork, rolls, wheat bread, special k w/ strawberries, spaghetti, mac and cheese, fettuccine Alfredo, cheerios, life  and seem very happy and healthy with their occasional treats. =)

Basically, I give them anything I would give my rattertats except for ice cream and sweet stuff like that.

  3. yes  and yes, and no

  4. Yes. Cheerios are fine treats. I'd say one cheerio a day is fine. They're fine for gerbils to eat. Well, the plain cheerios are. I've given my gerbils multigrain cheerios without any problems. I'm not sure about honey nut cheerios. It might be best to stick with plain cheerios.

With any treat, they should be given in moderation. You'll just have to see if your gerbils like them. Not every gerbil is the same. My gerbils weren't big fans of cheerios.
