My friend and I are going on a trip for her birthday and are flying Delta Airlines.

I am bringing her presents with me, am I allowed to wrap them, even if i check the bag under the plane, instead of bringing them wrapped on my carry on? Or am I allowed to bring them wrapped on my carry on?

  1. Wrap your presents when you get to your destination.  Security wants to be able to see what is in your bag.

  2. you can try to bring it wrapped but they might make you unwrap it or they might not, so just to be on the safe side, i would wrap it once i passed security and leave it unwrapped when they're checking it.  try bringing a gift bag and tissue paper with you and just stick the gift in that once you pass security.

  3. If they are wrapped you may have to unwrap them when going through security.  Even if they are in your checked baggage they should be unwrapped.  Suitcases are sometimes searched, even those that are checked.
