Absolutely.  Yes, some do.  But they will rarely admit to such behavior.  How often do you hear a woman say, "I'm just here to have a drink"?  I am quite sure often enough.  Now, how often do you hear a woman say, "I'm just here to pick up men"?  I would bet very seldom, if ever.

Many do some of the time, some do much of the time, and some never do. i.e. the growing friends with benefits trend, the growing one night stand trend. Especially in big cities. However, this does not make them s***s or slappers (there's a difference between choosing to have no strings s*x and sleeping with anyone and everyone - for both genders)

Girls are capable of separating s*x from emotion. That difference (guys in it for s*x, and girls for emotion) is also not as biological as people assume; social factors are very important in determining sexual attitudes. Because there are differences in these attitudes across the world, and because they change over time, as well. Yes, actually it's fairly common in today's society. People in general do not have the same morals or standards that they used to. One night stands or having a f..k buddy is now socially acceptable for both genders. Which I guess is fair, I mean if we're all going to sleep around it might as well be acceptable for both sexes.

Actually, there was a study recently done about executive women. A good portion of the women in the study admitted that they keep lovers on the side of their marriage, and most indicated that such lovers were for just s*x, no emotions attatched. It was pretty interesting.

I don't really do that. That is totally an individual preference. Some women do have uncommitted s*x with people - and it is usually a phase. I think it is safe to say though, that women don't do this as a general rule or less often than men do. Our orgasms are harder to achieve and when having s*x for the first few times with a new partner, I find most women tell me (and I can say for myself too) that we don't climax.

Currently I'm reading a series of books by Nancy Friday and with that I would say no.

There is just too much wrapped up with women and s*x that even if it seems like we only want to have a good time, it's never really true.  I think the romantic part is what we add to insure that we can get the chance to "do it" again.  There's nothing worse than being single and having one night stands.  I say this from recent experience.  There's this guy I've been with a few times over the past 5 years and the last time he made the comment that "this was only our third time and it was so much better than the first."  And I was thinking well of course.  With time you get to know a person and what better way to please them then to know what they like?  A one night stand is literally a shot in the dark.
