Do girls like scars?

I was shot in the shoulder when I was in the Army, and it left a biggish nasty scar, My ex-gf always said it was gross, I was just wondering what other girls thought of scars, now that she broke up with me and I am trying to find another GF! Thanks in advance!!!! :)

I'm not a big fan but it doesn't real phase me to be honest.. i mean if it was a scar from falling over.. lame but since u got it in the army i would presume you did something when you were sticking up for your country and im down with that.. thats hot

I don't think I would be bothered by it. It's a battle scar. And that wasn't nice of your ex. I've know people with much worse, someone who was in a fire as a child and someone who had extreme intestinal surgery as a toddler who's midsection looks like train tracks. A girl should like a guy for who he is, anyway.

Scars are a natural thing. There is nothing to be afraid of scars. Well I cannot really say because I do not know how girls would react on scars. Many react differently.

A scar from defending our country is super s**y -- heroic.  

A scar from a suicide attempt is not s**y. -- depressing

So you see, the story behind it is important.  You need to feel confident that your scar is a scar only heros can wear, and you need feel that when you walk and talk.  Internalize it.

Your ex must be young.  I would never tell a soldier that his wound was gross.  Tons of chicks will looooove that you are couragous enough to be in the Army, and the scar is part of that.

As for scars, I am an older gal, and I can tell you that as life goes on, women get more scars.  We get the stretch mark scars from childbirth and nursing.  So I agree that they are part of life.

well thats not your fault you're a strong guy whos standing up for his country. good for you! i don't especially like scars but its there, its there it shows you have courage and bravery. If i would really like a guy a scar wouldn't bother me and it sure wouldn't be the reason for breaking up with a guy.

actually, unless it's a huge bulging scar on your face or something, i really like scars.  it shows a guy who's lived his life and survived tough times.  your scar sounds kinda s**y actually and either way, if your ex really loved you, she wouldn't give a less **** about that scar.

Good question! I can relate to wondering this. I have a scar on my chest from a punctured lung, a jagged scar on my right hand and thumb from a severed tendon, two 4-5 inch scars decorating my left forearm, hand, and knuckle, and a couple small scars on the back and top of my head. I think my wife actually kind of likes them, but she could just be saying that to be nice. I've wondered what other people think too. Your scar stems from a better background than mine. I'd wear it with pride regardless of what anyone else thinks.

A lot of girls think they're gross...however, at the same time. Someone that truly cares about you will love even that part about you.

My fiances' father broke his collar bone when he was a teenager and there is a scar on his collar area and I love it... in the sense that I want to kill his dad and it makes me hate that man. We as women are supposed to love you for you... and your flaws... if that's what you want to call scars.
