Do goalies grow playoff beards?

When i saw Fleury and Osgood yesterday, neither had playoff beards. Then i wondered if goalies do grow playoff beards..

My question is: Do goalies grow playoff beards? How many do or dont? Why or why not?

Habsfan had one too. Took close to an hour to shave it off after the Flyers ko'd us and was fun while it lasted. It was a bit itchy and uncomfortable in the Texas heat but hey tradition is .. well .. tradition.

Only some do, I guess some might not believe in the tradition or just can't grow one.

Turco did.

Giguere did.

Its about the same % of players and goalies that grow them.

yes goalies do hav playoff beards but some of them dont like em

J.S Gigure (or however u spell it) when the Ducks lost in the Stanley Cup Finals said that he grew it out for the team and he and his wife didnt like it

I'm sure some goalies opt to grow a beard.

Note: Ozzie used to grow a goatee back in the day.

Chris Osgood wouldn't grow a beard because if you look at the mask of his helmet it his a sort of chin supporter or cup, just like the wire cage masks they use in the juniors, and other goalies might have that too in their helmets.

It would be awkward to have a beard with those types of helmets.

Some do and some chose not to... Fleury does..They may not due to the affect on the way their helmet may fit them.

Preference I suppose. I wouldn't do it because it would get annoying under my mask. The helmet practically touches every part of your face. It would seem like it would get itchy.
