Do goats get the respect they deserve in modern society?

I am not sure.  Goats are very noble creatures and have been used not only for milk, and meat, but are used to aid in herding and controlling sheep.  The sheep will follow the more trainable goat. I don't know that they are disrespected in Modern Society, but they are certainly not revered.

well no, i have always loved goats they are truly wonder-full animals! No animal is really treated fairly we humans are soooooooooooooooooooo full of ourselves that we neglect the animals around us.it is not fair that we do not give animals the respect they deserve (that includes goats!)

I say not.  Goats have been associated with negative things, such as "The Goat of Mendes" or "Baphomet", which are associated with the occult or satanism.  They are used to provoke fear, pain and anguish in the initiation rituals of some fraternities when that is not their true nature.  They have become an insult and a byword, such as "You smell like an old Goat!"

When the fact is that they help man by being a natural scavenger that can consume and breakdown substances as resilient as tin cans and rope.  They can be used as an inexpensive way to keep down foliage in rural areas.  And their milk and cheese is considered a delicacy, not to mention their meat in African or West Indian dishes such as Curry Goat.  Finally, they can be a loving and loyal pet and have even been known to 'bleat' for help when their owner was in danger.  They should definitely have more respect!

Goats are nasty creatures.  Take a look at those people that keep/raise goats.  Something's not right.
