  1. Every mammal, including humans are like that.  So the answer is yes.


  2. Well yes they have to give birth to give milk, but they can produce milk even after the baby is weaned as long as the mother is not allowed to "dry." This is how people can continue to get goat milk even after the goats baby is grown up.:)

  3. for the most part lactation is stimulated by the whole "baby process" something about pregnancy hormones and all that stuff. lactation can be maintained by continued suckling. once suckling stops, hormones inducing lactation stop being released; suckling induces hormone production that maintains lactation.
