Do gold weighing scales weigh different to post office scales?

sold ring on ebay it wieghed 10grams at post office without packageing the buyer is saying it is only 6gram on her scales

  1. unless both sets of scales have been calibrated using the same approved weights differences can be quite varying.I would at a guess trust the post office more than a personal scale simply because the post office will be regulated by the local  weights and measures office

  3. 10 grams seems very heavy for a gold ring.

    You need to be very careful with the Post Office as well. Someone in the sorting office switched some perfume I sent to my mum, with some counterfit junk from Hong Kong.
