  1. most of them jump out of water because the air provides less resistence compared to water. dolphins do it aswell hope that helps

  2. sometimes they get spooked sometimes they dont know any better and sometimes i think its suicide lol

  3. YES!!! Mine did too! Except, we were like cleaning the tank and my MOLLIES jumped out and it was weird picking them up because they were all slimy!

  4. if the water is filled up to high

  5. OMG, that is the same thing what happend to my poor little goldfish called Wanda, so yep unfortualy they do, I came back and found her dead on my bedroom floor:(

  6. yes definately,we've kept goldfish and tropicals and had

them jump out of the tank.

it's never happened when we've been watching but we've

always found them in time to pop them back.they don't seem to come to any harm.

    maybe they get bored?

  7. My fish jumped out of the water.  I was cleaning the gravel and noticed one missing......I found it dried up on the floor. I'd left the lid off after feeding them and i won't be doing THAT again!

My neighbour has fish also, and we witnessed her goldie jumping out of the tank due to another headbutting (probably trying to mate).  On another occasion she had ich and her fish were also using this to jump out of the water due to their erratic behaviour.  So it could be any number of reasons.

I don't think however that it is doing a "Nemo" and trying to get back to the ocean *lol*!

    Lisa :-)

  8. Yes they do jump out i had to tell my daughter to keep the lid down on her tank as she was leaving it open and they were trying their best to get out.

  9. most fish can jump out of a tank if they want to

  10. Well, thats why I have a cover on my fishtank!lol!

  11. yes mine did when i was in bed and it kept splashing me so i had to put it back in.

Put a mesh cover over it or buy a bigger tank :)

  13. before i was born my brother had a fish named Gorge and one day my family went out for the day and while they were out the fish must have jumped out of its open tank and the poor thing had landed on the fridge he died he was like gorge of the jungle lol

Sorry to hear about your fish if you ever get another one buy a tank with a closed lid (the lid has air vents though)

  14. Yeah....one time I left a little flap open on top of the fish tank, where you're supposed to feed them through, and when I got back there was a dead fish on my carpet. It was amazing... But it was long, long ago.
