  5. Depends on the air temperature outside. The optimum temperature for a golf ball is 80 degrees.  Balls heated to 120 degrees will compress slightly more and will give you a very minor distance improvement over colder balls. Don't use the microwave. Put your balls in a pot filled with water on the stove set to simmer. Balls will hold their temperature for about 2 hours in cool weather... so consider playing just 9 holes with no time at the range!
