Question:

Do golf tees matter?

From anti-slice to plastic to good old wooden. Does it affect ball flight or anything like that? Why spend money on the 'expensive' kind when there are bulk cheap wood tees available?

  1. they dont matter if your mechanics are right you can hit it off most anything and it will go straight  if they make an anti-slice tee( that works) i sure would like to get some

  2. it depends on the size. the smaller it is then it would be better for irons. the bigger it is then it wood be better for woods

  3. If you have a correct swing it doesn't matter.  I tried special tees when I find them on a tee-box but I can't ever tell a difference.  I like the 3-1/4" wooden tees, but the white ones so I can find it better.

  4. Nope, does not make a difference.  Except maybe those tees that have a built in stop so you tee it the same height all the time...if that is what you think is best. Personally sometimes I want to tee it high and sometimes low.

  5. there is a diff if you get the long vs. short tees depending on the size of your driver, but as for their effect on ball flight (if you get past how high, you're teeing up) wood vs plastic makes no diff. i think ppl use the plastic ones cause they last longer, but you still lose them so i don't see the point.

  6. man i never have gotten why people dont just buy cheap wooden tees.
