I started jogging and i was wondering what are the benefits of getting good quality running shoes? Do they really make a big difference? If so, what's the difference between wearing them and regular tennis shoes?

  1. They are better designed to support your feet while running, so your feet don't hurt so much.

  2. Yes they do - they are moer shock absorbent, more comfortable and allow your feet to breath a bit more.

  3. I ran cross country and track for 7 years, three years in junior high and all four years of high school. Running shoes are the most important thing that you need if you are going to be running any amount of distance. Having good running shoes helps to prevent injury, they can help make your running easier to do because you don't feel every rock on the road, and although it might be more expensive than getting regular tennis shoes, no pair of shoes is more expensive than a doctors bill, or surgery. But the type of shoes you need also depends on the miles you are putting in, the speed you are running at and how often you run/jog. If you go to shoe store and you ask them the same question you asked here and give them a little more detail into what kind of running you're doing they should be able to fit you with the perfect shoe.

Good Luck and have fun running.

  4. They ABSOLUTELY make a difference.  I used to have bad shin pain before I started wearing good shoes.  In my early years I listend to my mother "A $2 pair of shoes is just as good as a $20 pair of shoes" and ran in a pair of "Skips".  When I aske a phys ed. professor in college  what I could do for my shin pain, the first question she asked is what kind of shoes do you run in.  I said, "err...uh..............SKIPS!!"

That is when I learned that shoes definately matter.  And the shoe type also depends on the runner type.  Neutral, over pronater, etc.

  5. Trainers are specially made depending on the surface you are running on so if you have tennis trainers i suspect you could use them on grass or clay.

Running trainers are made to take the shock of your body running on roads with more breathable fabrics as they are used for running in so many miles. You should also use a specialist shop to see what type of foot you have as this makes a difference on the type of trainers you wear.

i do however use football astroturf trainers as i run on grass a lot as its easier on the joints.

  6. I'm not sure about the tennis shoes, but running shoes really help with arch support in your foot (the curved part). And one time I got this really bad heel injury/strain because I wore skater shoes and flip flops too much. Hope this helps!

  7. Yeah, running shoes help absorb more of the shock instead of your shins. it helps prevent shin splints and if you have ever had them you will most defiantly get running shoes because they hurt so much.

  8. yeah they make a difference!! they stop your shins absorbing all the shock from running around.you never get sore shins?

  9. So im basicly giving you all he advice i have lol

    have funn running

Well they matter in Cross country BIG time!! because we don'tt run on solid courses, it's always better to have a sturdy light weight running shoe i go to Academy for my shoes and equipment. good store =] some tenis shoes wont have an arch which is good to have when your running =] Um all of my friends really like then Nike but its to heavy for me so i dont i go with a really light weight shoe with a good arch. One of my friends counld only find spikes that were light weight so shes been running on spike shoes with out the spikes she says its the best shes ever ran in. Umm if you like running you should deffinetly try Cross Country its a great sport. and later on in the season definitly try track. It will work on your speed and Cross country will work on your distance. Eat right!!! thats a big important thing. and always remember to drink water all day long before you run! Always have that water bottle in hand! Dehidration sucks! and remember KEEP RUNNING dont stop to walk. it ruins your training. keep going and have goals set to where your mind will be focused on that spot not focused on pain or thirst.

uh thats it pretty much Keep Those Knees up!

  10. da running shoe jus makes it more comfortable in jogging then tennis shoes

  11. a running shoe has more support in the characteristics of running.  running has a different effect on the shocks sent thru your legs when they hit the ground which is why they are better for  running.
