  3. No. The grey wolf (Canis lupus) is found in North America and Eurasia. However, there is a species of wolf found in Africa - the Ethiopian wolf (Canis simensis). This animal was once considered to be a jackal and was called the Simien jackal, or even Simien fox, but more recent genetic analysis shows that it is more closely related to the grey wolf than to jackals. It lives in packs like the grey wolf, but does not hunt large prey co-operatively the way they do - each wolf hunts individually for small prey, usually rodents.
