  1. Ya they do!

They even need a couple of hours a day of attention!

If they are taught young that being held is a good thing, they will enjoy being picked up through out life.

  2. The more they were held and played with as babies, the more likely they are to be used to humans and want to be petted. It all depends on the guinea pig you get, but with some time and patience, you will most likely gain the trust of your guinea pig and he/she will wanted to be played with all the time :) In my experience generally guinea pigs are very friendly and loving animals to have around.

  3. only some do, but in general, guinea pigs do not like their feet to leave the ground

  4. the pigs don't like it, but the humans think that they have to do it.  provide your pig a habitat large enough to run around & with lotsa shelter from predators and weather.  they enjoy company, but not in the same way as a dog.

  5. Yaaaah I have a Guinea Pig and he doesn't like to be held, AT ALL.

He runs away before I can hold him.

But they make excellent pets :)

  6. Overall, yes, most do.  They do *not* like to be "caught" though. However, once you catch them & get them into your lap, they settle in and enjoy being petted.

Some guinea pigs will let you know when they need to go to the bathroom by squirming or nibbling your hand, but most don't & you might end up with an accident on your lap. For that reason, its a good idea to keep a towel on your lap when petting a piggie.

  7. I think they do I never held one though, but i have seen them in petsmart and people were holding and stroking one it seems that they do

  8. Some guinea pigs make a cute purring or trilling noise when you pet them.

  9. Yes they do, a lot. They are social animals and if you work with them enough than they will love you and start making cute guinea pig noises! :) ^_^

  10. of course!

    especially if you caress them

that way they will feel comfy around you

  11. i knew someone that had a guinea pig it didnt like to be held or petted much
