Do hamsters blink?

  1. YES

    Hamsters can definitely blink their eyes just like we do. The function of blinking is the same as for us, to clean their eye of any foreign particles. My guess is they require the blinking since they burrow in sandy areas and foreign particles can easily get into their eyes.

    Another interesting fact - not only do they blink fast for us not to see it, they can also blink in one eye independently of the other, what when we do is called "winking".

  3. Yes but they do it one eye at a time. (for better protection) They also don't do it as much.

  4. well with humans if we dont blink, then our eyes will dry out or something, and they do sleep with their eyes closed...so i assume they blink O_o
