Do hamsters get along?

Question

Me and my friend are getting hamsters. We both want girls and we were wondering if they could have play dates. We were also wondering if they would fight if we put them in a play pen an let them run around. Please Help!

Yeah it's not smart to put hamsters together that weren't already together or don't live together....they'll fight

no they don't i first thougt they did. but i found out by my to hamsters they were fighting like crazy well it was really my hamster that was fighting with my sisters and they were brothers. so i hope i helped you, :]

if they are to diff breeds they wont!! thts like putting a dog and a cat togther!!! if they r from the same litter they will deff get along!

The only time its alright to place hamsters that did not come from the same litter together is when they are ready to breed. Even litter mates need to be removed from the family into seperate cages pnce they are weaned or they will fight and/or breed. It is especially dangerous to place two of the same s*x together. If you are looking for small pets like that that would coexsist, i would try gerbils...male/female relationships work best but i have had a few male/male cage mates that lived together happily. These animals of course lived together on a regular basis, i dont know how the animals would react if they were brought together for "playdates" every so often.
