  1. NOOOOOOOOOO! especially dwarf hamsters. theyre little legs CAN NOT move like that to swim.

  2. No not at all! they will be very angry with you lol. A good ip though is that if your hampster gets dirty just get it a little wet and it will clean itself. Just a tip! Good Luck

  3. no

  4. That is not the best idea if you like your hammie and want to keep him. Hamsters get extremely stressed out when they are put in water and will almost certainly die if not dried of quickly. I don't know what the h**l she was thinking but one time my seven year old little sister put my little brothers hamster in a bowl of water!!!! He died and we were all really sad........... So don't put your hammie in water. Also, hamsters have a memory like an elephants, so that means that they can remember things that happened years ago, down to the slightest detail! So if you dunk one in water and it does live, it will always be scared of you and maybe even hate your guts!!! So please, be nice to your ham and give it lots of love. Have Fun With Your Hammie!

  5. NO, hamsters are desert rodents and cannot take to water like some other animals. In fact the water can be dangerous for them since the wet fur can cause flu, pneumonia or other respiratory infections in a hamster.

It is for the same reason that the hamster should never be given bath too. Hamsters are naturally one of the neatest and immaculately groomed animals and there is no necesscity to bath them. It will cause only damage by stripping the hamster fur of its essential oils and leaving it prone to skin infection.

For the same reason, whenever a hamster gets its fur wet in its cage perhaps due to a leaking water bottle or by sitting in its own water dish, the fur should be immediately dried with a clean tissue.

  6. they don't like water for anything but drinking. even putting them in a slight bit of water could completely stress them out. extreme stress can cause a shorter life span. its safe to say no water unless its in a bottle for them to drink.

  7. No! Do not give them a bath. They can't swim nor can they keep their body temperature up enough to live or not get sick. Bad idea.

  8. No, and don't give it a bath either.  Thats how my little sister killed hers.

  9. NO dont get it wet. i only got mine wet a little with a wash cloth but thats because it was sick and also my mom was there do not do wat we did we did it because it was sick and we were seeing wat was wrong with it and later it died. it died because we got it at a crappy pet supplies plus.

  10. As small as they are, it is very dangerous for them to get wet.  It could mess up their temperature, and they could get very sick or die from it.  Generally, rodents aren't big fans of water, so it'd be best to just keep him away from it.

  11. NO!!!!!!! DO NOT LET IT GET TOO WET AND THEY CANT SWIM THATS HOW I KILLEED MINE

  12. No! Bathing your hamster is extremely bad for it!

Bathing ANY type of hamster, or mouse is bad for it!

They are small, and they have trouble regurlating their body temperatures if you get them wet and do not dry them and keep them in a very warm place.

If you think your hamster is dirty buy some Chinchilla Sand (not dust), and it will clean its fur with it.

If your hamster has something sticky on its fur, only then should you get JUST THAT AREA wet. and gently wipe it off.

Do NOT get it on its face. Thats not good for it either. Then dry him or her off right away and put her in her cage with a nice warm towl and lots of warm bedding so your poor hammie won't catch its death.

  13. NO! My son killed one of our hamsters by taking it for a swim.

  14. No they do not.  also dont give your hamster a bath either.  if they seem to look as if they need a bath buy some sand.  that is a good way for them to get clean.  they play in it while getting clean in return.
