He ( sure it's a he, wife saw him last summer) made his presence all summer. Now nothing happens. No footsteps, no ceiling fans moving when turned off, and no dryer running when the dryer door was open. No apperiations floating over the bed and no thuds in the attic. Will he come back? He kinda made commin' home from work fun.

  1. residual hauntings are like that, they could last for days weeks months or years.  And just as fast, they are gone.

  2. It's been my experience that ghosts are much like the living in a lot of ways. Sometimes they need to take a break and go on vacation a bit, then come back. Haunting takes energy and ghosts don't have a lot of that to begin with, so you can imagine that a ghost can get a little tired of the daily grind. Chances are your ghost will come back soon after he's rested up.

If you want to keep your ghost happy so he doesn't go away, I'd recommend turning up your thermostat a few degrees. Ghosts need heat energy to manifest themselves, so the hotter your house is, the happier your ghost will be. This is why houses in the south tend to more haunted than in the north. The desert southwest is particularly haunted.

  3. Yes, hauntings do come in phases. It is hard to say if he will come back or not.  He could have passed over into the light.  Or, he is just choosing to be quiet at this time and that means he is still with you and watching you and you aren't even aware of it.  My husband and I live in a haunted house that has many ghosts, apparitions and we go through times when it is very quiet for us also and then bam they are back.

I know they draw energy off of heat and cold spots or batteries.  I am in a Paranormal Group and I can say for sure they draw power of off batteries.  We always put new batteries in tape recorders, our cameras batteries are fully  charged and our flashlight also have fresh new batteries and we have gone into places where in 5 minutes, the group is complaining about dead batteries.

What you might try doing is to take pictures in areas that were his favorite spots first and then take pictures of different areas in your home.  You could try putting out a tape recorder out just before you go to bed, one thing I have learned being in my group is when you use your tape recorder, turn the volume all the way down and that cuts out the white noise and captures any activity or voices much better.   Don't give up him though and try to get him to give you his name.  Ask him to say it into the tape recorder or that he give you his name in a dream or even just a thought.  I am only telling you what we do in our group and what happens if you try different things.

Good Luck and I hope he shows up soon and you get some photos or EVPs.

  4. yes, they can come in cycles.  it might be though that your ghost has finally made it to the other side.

  5. Were you remodeling this summer? Sometimes remodeling will make them more active.

  6. Well, some things have happened to me in stages. Like there is an evil cat (I know it may sound silly but it's true) in my neighborhood, well there used to be. It first started with my friend's little brother falling out the window and luckily landing on the sandbox. My friend was in the room with him and claims she heard a meow and saw a cat push him out of the window. I got really interested. Also, when that same friend moved, there was a haunted house in her new neighborhood. She knows this because her sister's friend claims she heard moaning in the night so I came over and we decided to check it out. We brought her friend's camera. We got actual photos of the ghost picking up her towel (they had got wet in the rain) and then dropping it. And we got another photo of her and her husband in a tuxedo and a wedding dress. When we came back later, we heard knocking and then a scream and saw the curtains open and close. We started screaming and the lady across the street came out and said "No one lives there. Stay away. I don't want you to get hurt. Don't take pictures!!!" By then we were more interested than ever. Why would we get hurt? Why didn't she want us to take pictures? Why didn't anyone live there? So we figured she had something to do with it. On our way back, we saw my friends name and birthday carved into the street. So the next day when the lady was gone, we went back to the haunted house and saw nothing. When we went back, we were disappointed when she pointed to the back of my leg and said "Look. She's bleeding!!!" So everyone else checked the back of their legs and everyone also had a red mark, and we were wearing sandels! It was so scary, we never went back there. So thats why I started believing in that. I really hope this helps you.

  7. The phenomenon of ghosts makes a lot more sense when you consider it in this light:

There is no such thing as a haunted place, only haunted people.

  8. sure, hauntings can be affected by a lot of factors. remodeling to who is an attraction for them. People can be haunted or places and sometimes both. Sometimes there is more energy for them to appear and when the energy dissapates the hauntings dissapates as well.
