I'm considering buying one when I go to college.

Do you think that's a bad idea?

My sister told me I shouldn't because they smell bad, is she right?

  2. Yes, they are  originaly wild animals.

  3. no, they don't smell at all. My friend has one and it smells fine and its not a bad idea at all. They are really cool animals. GOOD LUCK IN COLLEGE!!!!

  4. not that much if you keep their cage clean.  but in a little dorm the air might get alittle stale...

  5. Usually, they have a light musty smell which you probably wouldn't notice.  However, if their cage isn't kept clean it can get pretty stanky.

  6. No. I've owned three, one boy and two girls. Even with the two girls living together, they do not smell (unless of course you let their cage get very dirty, but this is true with any pet).

I am assuming you are talking about African Pygmy Hedgehogs? These are the most common choice for pets.
