Do hegehogs have hair or fur?

I am looking into buying a hedgehog but someone I live with is allergic to the darif in the fur Please answer before I buy!!

  1. I have heard many people go as far as calling hedgehogs "hypoallergenic", but I tend to disagree with this. Hedgehogs still have flaky skin that will disagree with some people. People with sensitive skin can also have breakouts from where they have touched the quills. Aspen shavings and carefresh bedding both can provoke allergic symptoms from the dust or smell of them.

  2. It's unlikely they'll be allergic to hedgehogs; my sister is very allergic to fur but is fine with my hedgie.
