Do hermit crabs like water ????

hermits should be on land, but you should have a wet sponge and give them a bath here and there.

Hermits are land dwellers only.  They only need it for drinking. They do not go in water like you average crab.  It is best to give them their dry environment and just a touch of water for drinking.

They are actually land based crustaceons.they will tolerate it,but they prefer land.

Land hermit crabs like to climb up on the water dish and drink from the bowl. They also like to wade in their fresh and salt water dishes. They go in to clean out their shells which is why you often find p**p and sand in them.

This is why I don't use sponges they just get in the way.
