  1. some live on bus benches, some live under freeways, in cars, in shelters....my heart goes out to them, since I once was homeless

  3. Uh, they're homeless, ergo, they have no home. Of course they do. They live wherever they can, and a subway would be ideal, because it's out of the elements.

    A lot of cities don't have subways but still have homeless people sleeping in doorways, parking garages, shelters, abandoned buildings, abandoned cars, storm sewers, under freeways and in parks.

    There is a documentary called Dark Days, in which camera man Mark Singer films the everyday lives of homeless people living in abandoned subway tunnels.  I believe it is filmed in New York.

  11. Uh...well, if they LIVE there, doesn't that mean the subway tunnels are their home, which would...by definition...mean that they are no longer homeless?
