  1. no.

There is some stupid video going around the internet of some morons who put their horse in a convertable and take it to the fast food place and buy it a hamburger, but that's not normal and you shouldn't do that.

Horses eat a lot of grass and hay and grain and they really like sweet things like candy and fruit... I discovered the other day that my horse loves bananas.  But no, they don't eat meat.

  2. Actually I used to have a subscription to The Horse and I recall some people writing in to the questions column about their horses eating meat, as more and more started to write in about this odd phenomenon The Horse started asking questions and soon found reports of horses not only taking the odd piece of meat offered...like say a hot dog or turkey sandwich, but of horses taking bites of dead animals they came across in their pasture even reports of horses delibrately stalking and killing small prey like rabbits and squirrels to take bites of the corpse.  Unfortunately due to money issues I was forced to let my subscription lapse despite the fact that I loved the magazine.  As a standard part of a horse's diet, I do not recommend meat, horses aren't predators, they are not designed to digest meat.  Stick with the standard feeds made for horses that you can buy at your local feed store.
