  1. Horses CAN run on rocks, but it's hard on their feet, especially if they're not used to it. As far as horse-racing, they usually run on a mixture of sand and dirt or on grass, and there are some new synthetic mixtures which even involve carpet somehow.

  2. Horses can go on gravel or rocks.  Personally I hate walking my horse over gravel and especially hate walking her over those big limestone rocks.

Tiny rocks can be part of the footing in an arena.  Small enough rocks mixed with the proper amount of dirt or sand can be perfectly fine.

Horses can run on anything but running on rocks can hurt the horse... if they step on one the wrong way they could either bruise their hoof or twist an ankle.  And if you have multiple horses running on gravel, they could kick up the rocks at the horses behind them and that could be dangerous for the horse behind.

  3. sometimes like at Belmont they still run on traditional

dirt....and they till it all day long, but sometimes a rock or

hard substance gets lodge in the horses hoof, as like

casino drive......so i think your dad might be right...

tell you dad to go to my web- site and get a free pick

    for Saturday...
