  1. Yes

  2. nope the ashes its really the coffin

  3. Yep. I have a friend who works in a crematorium.

They scrape the ovens out after use and bin the replacement hips and knees and stuff like that that doesn't disintegrate.

    Everything else goes to ash.

  4. yes , but who have you murdered ! don't get caught !

  5. i dont think so, i think they crush the bones at the crematorium and add the crushed bones to the ashes

  6. They do but not down to ashes. What come out of the furnace is run through a grinder to produce the 'ashes."

"The remaining bone fragments are then placed in a special processor which is kind of like a cross between a disposal unit from under a kitchen sink and a blender. This processor pulverizes the bone fragments to a fine powder called cremains or more commonly referred to as the ashes. "

"Small chunks of whitish- gray debris lie in the oven.   Perhaps a particularly large clump sits about halfway back, just about where your hip was.   You have been reduced to burnt bone fragments.

The operator opens the door of the cremator and vigorously rakes the silvery debris - all that remains of you - into a chute that leads down to a stainless steel bin.   You make a clinking sound as you move - like embers being stirred in a fireplace. You now weigh between 4 and 8 pounds. .. Several of your bones will be clearly visible among the cooling chips and chunks.   Perhaps a piece of hip.   Perhaps an 8 -inch strip from your arm.   Maybe a ball that once fitted your hip or shoulder.   In fact, your entire skeleton will be there... Metal balls grind you into smaller and smaller particles. You are ground down to something with the texture of sand.   You then drop through a perforated sieve into a metal pan below.   It will take about 20 minutes to complete the processing of your ashes. 7. The bones are what form the ash that people put into jars or scatter around.  Cartilage and other tissues just burn away and leave nothing left.

  8. What a morbid thought,

    probably

  9. yes the temperature of the ovens is immense

  10. Isn't it obvious?

  11. Most do, yes. However, if there are any 'chunks' left over, they are placed into a machine that grinds them down to an ash-like consistency. It's called a cremulator, apparently. Sleep tight!

  12. I understand why you ask because bodies are found after being burnt alive but the heat of the oven is so great the bones burn very quickly

  13. Yes. otherwise they wouldnt turn into ashes and they wud still be there and ppl would have urns full of bones.

  14. they do nowadays, because the furnaces reach very high levels.

In ancient times, however, cremation was not so thorough--in excavation of prehistoric cremation cemetaries you often get largish bone slivers and 'clinkers' which are balls of charred fat/hair...

  15. Yes the temperature is so high, that's why after pounding the few that's left you get the ashes

  16. Yes. All bones burn.

They turn to flaky white ash if the heat is high enough.
