  3. Yes, hummingbirds chirp. you should hear them when they're all trying to feed from the hummingbird feeder. Their chirping gets extremely noisy when they're trying to defend the hummingbird feeder.

    mine sit in the tree and chirp at me to hurry up when I am taking away the feeders to be refilled.....

  5. They DO make sound.  I've just recently heard it while one was at my feeder.  It's a tiny squeak.  It could be a chirp, but it was so faint, I couldn't tell.

  6. I would not call it a chirp so much as a melodious buzzing sound. Sort of like a soft sounding kazoo.  They tend to get noisier when there is conflict (often around feeders) when the birds will actually try to ram each other to drive competitors away.
