Do hummingbirds have any connections to the death of a loved one?

My son passed away on 8-2-06. Just as he passed a hummingbird flew

up to me and stayed for a few seconds.I just wonder if they are a form of a heavenly creature.

In general, or in respect to a certain set of beliefs? They aren't really mentioned in European/African/Asian religions because hummingbirds are only native to the New World. The only story I know is that the Maya believed that warriors who died in battle would sometimes return to earth in the form of hummingbirds... unless your son was a soldier who died in battle I doubt there's any connection.

There's also the chance that it could have just been a normal hummingbird. Hummingbirds can be very bold and many are curious about people, I've had several fly up to get a closer look at me, as have other people. People can be very good at seeing patterns where they don't exist. If it had been something less appreciable that came up to you... like a rat or a spider... the thought probably wouldn't have crossed your mind.

If you want more information about hummingbirds in the supernatural world, try asking in the religion/metaphysical sections. The pet bird section relates to bird care, not the possible supernatural aspects of birds; most of the people here are not studied on the subject and you would probably have better luck in the religion/metaphysical sections.

i had the same thing happen to me . my father pass at that moment a hummingbird flew up to me he look right at me .at that moment i know my father pass  away. i dont know what to think. but i was at peace. my father died 08/01/08
