  1. Wow....what do you think hybird means?

  2. Honestly?  Look up the word 'hybrid' in the dictionary.

Anything derived from heterogeneous sources, or composed of elements of different or incongruous kinds.

So a hybrid vehicle is usually composed of an electric motor and a regular gas engine.  Usually the electric motor will power the car when it's speed is below 60 km/h, then beyond that the gas engine takes over.

So to answer your question, of course hybrid cars use gas, but a lot less than a regular car.

  3. I'll be nice. =)

They use both gas and electricity and at different times.

  4. They ONLY use gas.

But they generate electricity to charge the battery and use the electric motor that helps with acceleration.

The reason hybrid gets such good MPG is that

    (1) it has very small motor

    (2) it store away energy when braking instead of throwing it away

    Good Luck...

  5. Some people are so mess!!!>.<

ya it uses gas to power the battery=]
