Do hydrogen generator / hydrogen boosters actually work?

So for the past month I've been doing some research on hydrogen generator and hydrogen boosters. From what I understand the main reason this works to save on gas is because you're taking energy from your battery which your alternator charges anyways and uses that energy to create hydrogen which you can use to continue to power your engine with.

Does anyone have any actual results from installing/building a hydrogen generator? MPG increased, type of car, where you got your plans?

Honestly, I'm really not interested in paying for plans. This kind of information should be free. The guy who runs water4fuel.com is an amazing internet marketer, but I'm not interested in anyone's plans who is charging for them. But if anyone knows where I can get really good plans for free or for cheap please let me know. No responses from Ozzie please.

You think you want actual stories from users, but that's not what you need.  What you need is data on these devices from an independent test laboratory, and you won't find any.  That's because the devices don't really work.  They _almost_ work, but adding a water cell to your car will inevitably decrease the gas mileage.  And no, these things do not "re-use" energy.  

    The plans are available everywhere, generally requiring a plastic jug, two stainless-steel bolts, some pipe to run the dissociated H2 and O2 from the jug to the air intake, and a switch to turn the current on and off.  Mix some baking soda or something into the water to increase its conductivity, and hope that the chlorine and NaOH you will also produce doesn't rot out your induction system.  That's it, and good luck to your oxygen sensors.

  3. Think about it. If it did work, why wouldn't some car company have adopted this idea long ago? Using electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen requires more energy than you get out of the resulting hydrogen and oxygen isn't actually combustible, it just makes it easier for things to burn.\

    There are technologies coming that will increase the efficiency of electrolysis to produce hydrogen, but they're not here yet and they're certainly not going to use Brown's Gas, which has been discredited many times. A simple search will turn up many complaints and sites debunking this 'technology' which is nothing but a way to extract money by selling you worthless plans.

    QSI Quantumsphere has a new nano-material that makes electrolysis 85% efficient, that's easily good enough to put it in cars so you can produce the hydrogen used in a fuel cell or for combustion 'on-the-fly'. Even then, you'll use more energy driving down the road than you'll get from the water in your tank, but it will be efficient enough if you start with fully charged batteries.

  4. That wouldn't work from the standpoint of your sensors that adjust your fuel regulation.  You couldn't get it to work on a standard car.  

    Also, if you are trying to power your car that way the idea will backfire in another regard.  The engine has to work harder to produce more electricity.  That electricity then is used to break down water into hydrogen and oxygen.  Those two are combined back together either through a fuel cell (the most efficient way)  or combustion (less efficient) to create power and water.  A fuel cell produces electricity and is the more efficient of the two ways.  And think about it...if you are producing electricity with electricity the law of conservation states you aren't going to get more energy out of the process and there is basically a 100% likelihood that you are going to lose energy in the process.  So you just lowered your fuel economy instead of raising it.  You might use regenerative braking to separate it and that would give you better fuel economy.  But if you do that, why not send the electricity straight to the battery.  Most people that know the physics and chemistry behind it could tell you that it won't work before even trying it.
