  1. i grew up in minnesota so i learned to skate and ski very early on.

my favorite is cross country skiing, downhill skiing seems so artificial but must admit i enjoyed it too

living in mexico is very nice as the climate is temperate,  but no snow below 10000 feet  and when it does snow up there it is never enough for skiing.

mexico city's mayor built a temporary ice rink on the main plaza but haven't gone there yet, i live about 4 hours away... too bad!

  2. I grew up in Newfoundland where there was a lot of snow so i started when i was three. Now i am almost 20 and i ski about 100 times a year. I am an expert skier and i often ski at Mont. Tremblant in Quebec. I also like mountains like Smugg's Notch in Vermont. What i love about skiing is going fast down slopes and how effortless it is. The best feeling is when you get to put your wide skis on and do cliff runs with loads and loads of powder.

  3. Growing up, we always went skiing on Christmas break up to NH, near Maine. I'm married now and my husband and his kids haven't been skiing that long but we will be skiing more often because we are fortunate to live about 15 minutes from a mountain. It's a small mountain in MA called Mount Wachusett. It's great for beginners but for skiers like me, it can get boring quick. I learned to ski when I was about 10. I'm 34 now. I stopped skiing for a few years but it came back quick. It took me longer to get back into riding a bike then it did pick up skiing again.

Hope you have fun. It's too bad that you can't go more often. It does help make winter more bearable.

I like being outside and being active. I'm not a sit at home type of person.

  4. I've been skiing since I was 3 (about 14 years), and I ALWAYS go skiing in Beaver Creek. Although many people would disagree with this, I would say that Beaver Creek is a better ski resort than Vail (the standard to compare ski resorts to) because it provides everything imaginable for every level and type of skier. The Talons Challenge, which includes the 13 toughest runs in Beaver Creek, is an excellent way to judge your ability and earn bragging rights among your friends. Also, how many resorts can offer FREE WARM chocolate chip cookies at the lift line both in the morning and apres ski?

Vail is also too big, which can be a problem if you have reservations at Amigos (slope side with the best apres ski in the valley) but you're waiting in line for one last run in blue sky basin. That leads me to the other drawback, which is that Vail has much longer lift lines- good luck finding a line shorter than 30 min during Christmas break. Beaver Creek will occasionally have a long lift line at the base around 9 am, but the crowds disperse incredibly fast and the lift lines become that much shorter :)

  5. Bryce, whitetail, seven springs, winterpark, Breckenridge,
