  1. well i dont see why you would need to. ive never heard of calling hazmat for a bulb breaking. just be extra careful when sweeping up the glass and wear thick electrical gloves when taking out the busted part of the bulb in the lamp.


  2. I here ya.  Who would have thought something so simple as cleaning up a light bulb could be so darned complicated?

    The US EPA is doing a big whoop-de-do study on what to do when a CFL bulb breaks. They don't have the final guidelines yet, but they have published these guidelines until they do.

    I think it is a bit too cautious, but that is just my opinion.  I was born in the days before mercury was hazardous.  It was sooooo fun to play with.
