Do i even have to cook the heart of palm?

i have some heart of palm, i looked up recipes and do i even have to cook them. i'm looking for kinda salad, side dish thing. i have only have a lil bit of stuff to cook them with

If you purchased them in a jar or a can then no you do not have to cook them.  Make a salad slicing the hearts of palm and add tomatoes, avocado slices, artichoke hearts if you have a jar of them with a good vinaigrette salad dressing and top off with croutons.

If it's from a can or jar, no, it's already cooked.  Just slice it up on yoru salad.

If it's fresh, honestly, I wouldn't know how to prepare it.  I've only ever had it out of a can/jar!!

NO.

You don't even have to cook freshly cut hearts of palm. When I was in Costa Rica this summer we had the opportunity to eat fresh cut hearts of palm directly off of a local womans home crop.
