My children already receive SSI benefits because of his disability and I wasn"t sure if they would receive additional support when the divorce is final.

  1. yes you do. Contact your state attorney general's office.

  2. Yes, you do.  File for it.

  3. yes you do.

  4. I dont think so, if you do it will be a few dollars, very very few dollars.

  5. Unless it specifically states in the divorce decree that you don't, its pretty simple 'you do". I paid child support for an entire year and I was unemployed (thank GOD I put money away for a rainy day).

  6. I would sure think so!  The ex helped make the child, the ex can help with the bills.  Don't mean to sound hateful but just because your ex is disabled does not excuse him/her from supporting their child.

  7. Geesh, kick him while he's down why don't ya.  Isn't SS enough to cover his share for the kids?

  8. my mom did from my dad
