Do i get sick pay, if I had an accident abroad?

I had an accident, while I was on holidays in Spain. I worked for 3 years in the uk. And I had been told, I don get sick pay, because it did not happen in the UK.

  1. Yes. It doesn't matter how you became sick or where. If you work for an employer and become sick they should pay you Statutory Sick Pay, if you don't qualify for SSP your employer should give you and SSP1 so that you can claim Incapacity Benefit. This is a legal requirement on the employer, how and why you became sick do not come into it. Discuss this with your employer and if they are in any doubt see your local CAB, if your employer does not comply the DWP will pay you Incapacity Benefit and HMRC is likely to fine your employer,especiallyly if you should be getting SSP
