  1. I think so. Google it and see what it looks like. You probably want to have it checked and fumigated

  2. Termites are milky white in color. If your house has termites, even if inspectors try to exterminate them, they will still be back. The best is to use teak or chengal wood.

  3. Kala it is very easy to tell termites from ants.  Think of your Aunt she has waste line so does a ant, termites body goes straight back. This is a good way to remember how to tell the two apart.   I have never seen termites, leave wood shavings on floor.  I think you have carpentar ants they leave wood shavings behind.

    Good Luck

  4. there are a number of ants that create the loose pile you are describing, even with carpenter ants what looks like wood shavings are actually shed skin from when they emerged from a cocoon.  If your inspector gives you a song and dance about how much danger your home is because of these insects show him the door and call a more reputable company

  5. ewww, ya that sounds like termites!! If it isn't it's something else and either way you're going to want to call an exterminator FAST!!!

  6. you need jesus

  7. It does  not sound good Get help fast call terminix or the orkin man ASAP

  8. You should do a quick search online and find termite pics so you know if thats what you have. Finding shavings is odd though because termites sometimes don't break the surface of the piece of wood they are eating away and it looks ok but is actually full of these long tube like holes. If you have them jump on it with a call to the pros right away because this problem will multiply quickly.

  9. The most noticeable evidence of termite activity is the presence of mud tunnels on the exterior foundation leading upward into the structure. These tunnels provide shelter for the termites as they move between their nest and the food source (structural wood).

So, if you don't have that, it's most likely not termites.

My guess is that they're some sort of ants... but it's only speculation. An expert needs to look at the shavings to tell you what made them.

    Hope it helps :o)

  10. Most likely?
