Do i have a tooth cavity?

One of my top back teeth has a dent in them. I can feel an opening at the top when i put my tongue on it. When i look at it in the mirror you can see it is light brown colored up there. Could this be a cavity? What should i do? I already have an apt with my dentist on the 20th. Ive been planning to get braces so if they were to pull out this bad tooth would that be good too? What should i do?

since you already got an appointment, i wouldnt worry about it too much. just get the dentist to check it out, its not likely they would pull the tooth even if it was a cavity, much rather they would just repair it and you would have a filling. unless its a huge part of your tooth they wont just pull it out, they ll try to save your tooth. just wait and see, it really doesnt sound like you need to worry. good luck to you!

Its a cavity, i've have plenty of cavities in my life. and I have 2 right now, You will probably just need to get a filling and it will be alright!!!!!
