Question:

Do i have a ukulele cheap guitar?

i got a ukulele and ive been looking them up and ive noticed that the six string ones have two strings close together but mine just has six strings and none of them are close together, its just like a small acoustic guitar but i was told it was a ukulele

does anyone know what kind of instrument i have is?

  1. You don't have a Tahitian ukulele (they have eight strings and are usually very ornate). Some ukuleles do have six strings, but you are right that they wouldn't fit what you have.

    The link to the picture doesn't work, but you may well have a guitarlele.

    This is closer to a ukulele in size but it has six strings arranged like a guitar.

    Another possibility is that you have a toy guitar. There are many guitars around that are around the size of a ukulele.


  2. I think what you have is a Tahitian ukulele.....but I'm not completely sure, I wish that you would have sent a picture with this question !!!!!!!!! I know that it's not a guitar !!!!!!! Cheap or otherwise !!!!!!!!!!!

    All Ukelele are 4-stirng and tuned the same except for the baritone.

    Now, what you are referring to is the Tahitan ukelele which has 4 double strings (8 strings total). They are often called Lute.
