Do i have breast cancer? (Male)?

I've had a lump about the size of my very tiny nipples (Lol) for about a month now and it seems to be only on my left nipple. It hurts when i push it which from what i heard it shouldn't on breast cancer. I know it most likely isn't but does anybody have any idea what i could be and should i get it checked out? I'm a 14 year old male... i tend to get worried about these things...

Thanks.

  1. Breast cancer is a cancer that starts in the cells of the breast in men and women.

  2. Benign means 'not cancerous'.

I would definatley have that checked by your doc but I'm sure is nothing serious.

  3. There are nodules that may grow, that are benign, but nevertheless should be removed, especially when sensitive.

It is probably not cancer, or papilloma, but definitely requires medical attention ASAP.

    See a doctor.

  4. Most breast lumps in males are a condition called gynaecomastia, a button-like growth under the nipple and areola area that can be felt and is sometimes visible to the naked eye, and occasionally it can be quite tender.

This increase in the amount of breast tissue is not a tumour and occurs due to changes in hormone balances at times like adolescence - in other words, at your age.

The chances of a 14 year old male getting breast cancer are as close to zero as makes no difference.

Men do get breast cancer, but fewer than 1% of those diagnosed with breast cancer are male.

And 80% of all people diagnosed with cancer are over 50; most men diagnosed with it are over 60.

It's rare in women under 40, and almost unheard of in under 20s.

So you can see how huge the odds against a 13 year old male getting breast cancer are.

You should see your doctor for reassurance
