so when i turned 15 my hair line starting moving backwards. it was no big deal then but now my hair has thinned out everywhere. I'm now 18 and my hairline is pretty freaky and i won't be able to rock my comb over for much longer. I've been told its Male Pattern baldness but its happened so fast and its all over, even the sides, neck and back of my head have thinned out. anyway its like all i think about anymore, i have little self confidence and life is looking pretty hopeless. umm i gotta figure out how to get some pictures on here. also i used propecia for 4 months with absolutely no slowing in loss or anything. i've tried all the shampoos, nioxin, nizoral, like 3 others i can't think of. my dad has a high hair line that just these last few years has thinned out really bad but he just turned 50. right now my hair looks something like his did when he was 42. (home videos) my grandpa on his side also has a full head of hair to this day in his early 90s. i had a bad bit with insomnia when i was 13-16 but i dont know if that could really cause all this. i also had a problem with bulimia from 14-17, i wasn't like hard core bulimic i would normally digest like 1-2 meals a day. yah so if anyone has any input thatd be awesome i'm gonna get some pics up or something.

  1. Have you gone to a doctor, preferably a dermatologist? If you are losing hair on the sides and back, that is NOT male pattern baldness. They call it "pattern" because it usually has a typical pattern - a bald spot in back on top and loss of hair from the forehead. It never involves losing hair on the sides or back and never in patches from anywhere. It can happen pretty fast - for me, when I was about your age my hair was coming out so fast it was scary. But if you have hair loss on sides or back, or patches of lost hair, you need to see a doctor, and one who will take you seriously and not dismiss it too quickly as pattern baldness.

  2. Did you dad or grandad go bald ask them. if so ask them. If yes shave it all off and go bald early. skin heads don't look as half as ugly as bald patch people.

  3. It sounds like male pattern baldness, although it shouldn't pattern itself after your father, the dominant genes for baldness come from your mother's side, or maternal grandfather.

The bulimia or other health issues don't cause hair loss, but if you aren't healthy or eating well, that can speed the process or slow re-growth.

Question, do you look good with a shaved head? The best thing to do is not fight it or hide it and shave it off if you can't grow hair.

These days hiding, toupees, or implants aren't cool showing off you blad head is.

Studies have also shown, bald men are more virile. Meaning they last longer in bed, duration and hardness.
