  1. I was irregular from age 11 to age 18... SEVEN years!

You have the capability to become pregnant.

  2. If you aren't getting your period, then you aren't ovulating.  The months you are getting your periods, you are ovulating.  You do have a chance of getting pregnant during these months.  You need to go talk to your doctor about getting on a form of birth control.  I went through the same thing when I was in my teens.  I'm 26 years old now and I have a regular period thanks to a couple of years of orthotryclen lo..  You just need to get regulated.  If you aren't getting the answer you need from your doctor, ask around and find someone who can refer you to someone who actually has a genuine care for their patients.  Choosing a gynocologist is important and it is a necessity to find one that is understanding and trustworthy.  Go get yourself checked out and ask your doctor about your options.

  3. I'd go to a different doctor.  That's pretty long in between periods.  You might have a hormonal imbalance or something like endometriosis which could impact your fertility.

It might make it more difficult for you to get pregnant if you're only ovulating 2-3 times a year.  Only a doctor can know for sure.

Even though you're a virgin, I'd make an appointment with a gyno if you haven't seen one yet.  I was a virgin until I was 31 and got married but I saw one regularly from about age 20 on.  I was still on birth control to help control very irregular periods and ovarian cysts.  Better safe than sorry.  Get checked out!
