  1. that's about all they would tell her

  2. yeah i guess she has the right to find that out but she cannot find out where her daughter is or whos looking after her but just to warn her the daughter has the right to know shes adopted when she 16 and she can get told who her natural mother is...

  3. yes you do have the right to know what date your daughter was adopted on as you are you are her mother!!

  4. anything that has to do with your baby is your business. don't let any agency tell you different!

if they want to give you a hard time tell them you want a open adoption!

  5. I dont know about all the legal stuff .. so this is really just my opinion   but yeah i think so ..

  6. Of course you do!  although there will be plenty who say no.

Go to the Court Docket old appearance records - they are supposed to be public record (until you mention adoption, of course!-so don't)

All the best.  I would have been absolutely thrilled if my mother had come looking for me

  7. yes she does have the right to find that out just not the right to know were she Is

  8. yes, afterall she is her daughter! Why, a lawyer or someone wont let her know? becuase thats just terrible. she also have the right to know who is adapting her daughter.

  9. probably not, as now she has been adopted so she has no parental rights! It would be almost like a stranger  asking for that, and there is something called confidentiality.

  10. Probably but I doubt they'd tell her anything else.

  11. After her parental rights were severed, her rights ended there.  She cannot open up the file to find out the date.

On the other hand, it wouldn't hurt to ask, and the worst case she might get is a no.  Good luck, and tell her that parents like me are so thankful for the first parents, and I realize how hard it is, and that parents like me are hopefully taking care of her daughter, and she is being loved.

  12. Depends on the circumstance that the baby was adopted. If the mother gave her child up to a closed adoption or was taken by the state, no, you dont have a right. If it was an open adoption, yes, you do have a right. If it was closed, the child will try to find the parent if they so choose and it should be left this way.

  13. Didn't she sign anything?  She should have some paperwork, wasn't she present at any court hearings?  I would think she has a right to know that.  If it was handled through an agency, have her contact them (although I don't really trust agencies one bit but it's a place to start) or contact wherever it was that handled the adoption.

She does have a right to any paperwork that she signed.
