Do i have to be good at art to pursue a career in engineering?

I'm not the best drawer but I'm thinking about pursuing a career in engineering, I'm interested in math and science but its the art I'm worried about.

  1. No.  That's why Engineers invented AutoCAD and OrCAD.  Expect 1 course in drafting, and about 15 in various forms of calculus.


  2. You don't need to be good at art at all. Engineers are notorious for their hand writing (just like doctors). It does help add credibility to your calculations if they're well organized and legible but if you don't draw then there are many ways around it and it should absolutely not be a factor in which career you choose. It doesn't matter how tidy you draw things, its whether the numbers are right.

  3. No art required, however, are you creative?  You cant design stuff without creativity.

  4. You dont even have to know how to draw a stick figure :) well maybe but thats about it. Everything is done on computers. Hand drawing is for the graphic designers. Good Luck, its a rewarding field you get to build cool stuff!
