OK, I am going to buy a new motherboard and cpu in a bundle with ram.

but i am going to be using the same Hard drive i have, do i still have to go out and buy another operating system?

if so where can i get windows vista cheap i am only 15 you know.

  1. No you will not need new OS,you will be using your old hard drive which has installed operating system.


  2. As long as you have an operating system on your old hard drive it will still work.

  3. Vista will load drivers for your new motherboard.

    If it skips a few you can get the Vista drivers from their site.

    Motherboard should come with a driver disc though.

    And the answer to your question is:

    Your pre-loaded drive should work just fine with the new mainboard configuration.

  4. You do not need to buy another copy, but you will have to reinstall the one you have.  Your hard drive will have to be reformatted.
