  1. Once your get your green card, your work authorization is invalid. You have to update your SS Card which has no written “VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION.”

Your green card is your permanent work permit from now on.

  2. No, you don't have to change your social security card.

However, since you did not have a green card previously, your current social security card probably says something such as "Not valid for work without DHS authorization".

If you want, you can go to your local SSA office and get that mention removed. You will get a new social security card without the "not valid..." mention. Of course you will retain the same social security number. Once again, you don't have to do that, but it's a good thing to do. Social security cards with that "not valid" mention sometimes puts employers off when they don't understand it, so if you can get a social security card without the mention, it's always a good thing. You may apply for that new card as soon as you get your green card.
