  1. If you're travelling from Israel to the UK and you need pounds, it is cheapest to use shekels to buy pounds in Israel. (You can convert currency at any bank, post office or change office. The change offices in Israel are generally cheaper than the other two alternatives).

If you already have dollars and want to convert to pounds, it will be cheapest to do this in the UK.

If you buy dollars in Israel and then convert to pounds in the UK, you will be paying a double commission, which is pointless.

    Dan

  2. I'm pretty sure you'll be fine with pounds, they are an excepted rate in Israel. Besides, you will save the double commision for convertion.

  3. Go to your bank and get traveler checks.  You will get a fairer exchange if you can buy them in the said currency.

There is always a person in a litlle bullet proof room willing to exchange at a loss to you.

Small sums only and it isn't that bad.

  4. you can convert there. in the big countrys loike american australia china uk, you can change any kind of money when you get there.

  5. go to the bank and convert

  6. the  most feasible would be to convert your shkalim in israel to pounds.

and if i was you i would use money changers as apposed to the banks, as they give a better exchange and don't charge commission

  7. I would bring my ATM card, and very little cash.  That way you only pay a nominal fee for the conversion between the banks electronically.  I have always done this, in the UK, France, Greece, and Israel.

That way you don't have to carry large sums around, less chance of getting robbed.
