A lot of the night clubs in New York City have lounge areas.... so you don't have to dance. Actually a lot of the better night clubs have more of a lounge (drink) area than a dance area.

So no, if you go to a club in NYC you can definietly just sit down and have a drink and probably have just as good of time.

No, as stated below most night clubs have a lounge area where you can drink.

However, at most of the upscale clubs, the "tables" are for bottle service only, so if you are the only person planning on drinking, be prepared to fork out about 400 bucks for a bottle of vodka. If your whole group chips in, it could be economical
