Do i have to dechlorinate water for goldfish?

my friend has a goldfish aquarium that he never dechlorinated and the fish are ok...hes had them for 4 years

  1. Your friend is very lucky, it is a really bad idea to keep any fish in chlorinated water especially when you consider how cheap water conditioner costs.  Try Seachem Prime it is cheap and you need less than a lot of other brands.


  2. well u dont have to wat u do is wen ur ready to clean the tank u take out half the water in it and and top it up with normal water.

  3. Your supposed to dechlorinate the water for all fish, goldfish too. Unless its water from a spring, 'cause that won't have chlorine in it.

  4. It is best. They shouldn't really breath in chlorine.

  5. Yes, you can buy it for a small amount at your pet store, it can affect the fish when you first put the water it due to the hardness, chemicals and metals in the water.

  6. You have to dechlorinate the water.

    Water naturally loses its chlorine in an hour.
