Do i have to dechlorinate water for goldfish?

my friend has a goldfish aquarium that he never dechlorinated and the fish are ok...hes had them for 4 years

Your friend is very lucky, it is a really bad idea to keep any fish in chlorinated water especially when you consider how cheap water conditioner costs.  Try Seachem Prime it is cheap and you need less than a lot of other brands.

well u dont have to wat u do is wen ur ready to clean the tank u take out half the water in it and and top it up with normal water.

Your supposed to dechlorinate the water for all fish, goldfish too. Unless its water from a spring, 'cause that won't have chlorine in it.

It is best. They shouldn't really breath in chlorine.

You have to dechlorinate the water.

Water naturally loses its chlorine in an hour.
