  1. i'm a pole vaulter and distance runner in high school and i had the same question when i decided i wanted to go out for track. that young i dont think you'll really need to do any rigorous training, just make sure your eating right and keep your body healthy. just make sure your in shape and you'll do fine

  2. i am a highschooler in track it is really fun just try hard. It becomes really fun in highschool when you get to travel across the country for races like a senior on my team went to a race in california and we are in new york.

In 6th grade they are just getting u used to the running idea and trying to see if you like it or not so don't worry too much about it it doesn't become competetive til highschool.

for eating just dring plenty of water and eat pasta night before a race for the carbs.

Ya jogging and stuff will help start maybe about a week or two before the season. I run cross country winter and spring track and at the start of every season for the first week my legs burn and are cramped and are painfull so if you run before the season starts and start very easy and work your way up you can avoid this plus be a step ahead of the game when the season starts.

    Good lUck!!!
