Now I'm not talking about giving up my citizenship with Guatemala because I know Guatemala allows you to have dual citizenship. My mother wants to travel and sometimes you don't need a visa when traveling to certain countries, you only need a passport.....if you are from Guatemala. In other words, I don't know if the US takes your Guatemalan passport away. Thank you in advance to all!

  1. You are allowed to have both passports with an important exception-- the U.S. government does not want its employees to be dual citizens.

  2. No the us does not take your passport away.

  3. yes u can have 2 passports, they don't take the other one away

  4. a passport is a proof that you are a country's citizen.since US allows dual citizenship, you don't have to give up your passport. if you're still uncertain about this, you could ask some information from the US embassy in Guatemala.

my friend has dual citizenships and he hold both of his passports though he uses the US passport more..

    hope this helps
